But I do have a few main base versions of my F/O that most of these AUs are built off!

Kurt’s always so helpful and sweet, helping my S/I, Ark.
I tend to jump around the timeline, usually it’s classic new team stuff, but sometimes it’s Excalibur or when Logan ran the school.
They are there to support each other regardless of timelines
. Ark is always blunt when it comes to helping him face problems he may not always know are there because that’s what he needs, not dancing around the topic. Meanwhile Ark is slow to confront problems, and they can usually realize their problems and Kurt is there to be a support and help them at their own pace.
He’s my default to think about and is definitely a huge comfort for me
The timeline jumping makes it difficult to talk about one specific storyline because it's kept very loose

Basically Ultimates but if ignoring a lot of canon. Super gay and sometimes ends up leaving the X-men with my S/I so he can begin to actually heal from his tramua. I tend to use this one a lot because I like angst.
Goldy’s important because he makes Ark actually feel important and special. He adores them so much, even at their worst. They’re his source of comfort, and when they get together he is very much not in a good place but they are his rock while he works to get better. A lot of hurt/comfort with them, going both ways as they are both healing from severe past trauma. Lots of late nights of nightmares and insomnia too. Fun secret dating stuff for a bit too.
Kurt is also sort of a younger brother to Logan in this. Weapon X hugely fucked him up, but he was only there for a little less than a year

Warning due to the canon I pull from his behavior can often be considered borderline “yandere” so feel free to avoid that, but he’s non violent just very possessive. My S/I knows how to deal with that and is very good at setting boundaries with him.

Main story points
-Kurt almost having the complete mental break he has in the canon ultimates comics but with Ark being there to bring him back to reality and help him. It’s often the start of their relationship too
-Dealing with the fact they're both kinda trapped and don’t have a choice to not be X/men. Neither of them have anywhere to go if they left and they don’t think they could live normal lives even if they did leave
-Ark preventing the ultimatum using their knowledge of the comics, sometimes being the reason they were brought to that earth
-Ark being injured and ending up in the hospital in a coma for a bit, causing much distress to Goldy's already fragile mental state. When they wake up and Kurt is already there they make him take them out of the hospital immediatly because their mental barriers are down and the emotions in the hospital are completely overwhelming them
Goldy and Three do have some overlapping plot points because they have the same roots which I’ll mention here

Returning to his family to visit after being gone so long and trying to not only fit in the place of who he once were but his family realizing something deeply changed about him. For Goldy he keeps going back to visit until it reaches a boiling point and talks very vaguely about it with his brother and his brother knows someone did something to him and his Mom overhears him on the phone with Ark after he has a panic attack from his PTSD. On the other hand Three is quick to realize how he’ll never be who they think he is again, and doesn’t visit often but keeps in contact.-Though whatever methods he ends up meeting his dad Azazel, who in this universe (cause I say so) isn’t locked away in another reality and wanting to conquer this one. Instead he lives way way out in the countryside, having retired from his life of crime (how he met Mystique, Kurt’s mom) and settled down with a wife. He had 4 kids, A boy named Arthur who’s 13, a girl named Jezabell (16), and the twins (9). Kurt ends up finding a lot of comfort in the family he never knew he had, and Azazel never knew about Kurt and just considered Mystique the one who got away. Three is a lot more cautious about this than Goldy is, but ends up having deep conversations with his dad that are very vaguely about what happened to him that Goldy wouldn’t have.

Three is what Goldy could have become, if Goldy had been in the Weapon X program much much longer. In canon it was implied he was there for less than a year (Even saying “all these months in this horrible place” and a scientist dude saying something about a few months ago too) but in this AU he was there for almost 3 years and it kind of broke him. He was also taken when he was much younger, about 13 at the time.
He’s a lot tougher, stronger and scarier and often seems to be very distant and grumpy but he does have a huge soft spot for my S/I, Ark. Unlike Goldy and canon Ultimates he has no problem with killing anymore, but tries to only do it if he has too. He usually has a knife made of mysterious material (not metal, but looks metallic and is as strong as a//damantium) that he’s very attached to and always has on him. The knife was sometimes given to him by Ark, sometimes it was stolen from the person who tormented him at Weapon X. He is very protective of Ark
it’s all about the protective tough guy and soft squishy shorter one dynamic. He gets so easily lost in his paranoia and is so distanced from everyone and tends to scare people, but Ark helps ground him and connect him to those around him. Before Ark the only one he got along with was Logan, and that’s because he goes with Logan to track down smaller branches of the program and shut them down. But now he’s actually become (sort of) friends with the rest of the team! Specifically their friend group is Ark, Kurt, Piotr, Warren and Alison and they’re the only ones who have really gotten to know him. He has much less qualms about killing when he needs to and is very skilled at fighting with a variety of weapons.

Nighty is just a really sweet goof who’s not always sure what he’s doing. Usually already struggling with his sexuality when my S/I shows up. Mischievous dude who just likes to cause (mostly) harmless problems. Very very casual best friend vibes with my S/I until whoops they kiss! (bro…) Still keep things very casual after though. Usually has a secret dating trope thrown in for extra shenanigans. Aged up, usually having just entered or about to start college but has known my S/I for a few years. Nighty has had the same story since I first started self shipping, although details have changed over time.
Please note I only ship with him because I was the same age as he was in canon when I first started shipping with him and he aged with me. It’s the same storyline as back then
It’s all about young dumb love, being deeply in love with your best friend and just the feeling of driving down the road to get out of the house with the windows down and blasting music and singing together. A lot of it is just fun dumb stuff, lots of shenanigans as their relationship is very casual. The most angsty it gets is Kurt very slowly comes to terms with the fact he’s gay.

-Toad finding out theyre dating by catching them kissing and Ark threatening him if he tells anyone (he doesn’t, he’s also gay)
-Rogue finding out cause she borrows Kurt’s powers and asking who all knows and Kurt says “Well Kitty, and Toad by accident, and I think Jean and the professor know, and maybe Logan? But he’s hard to read so I’m not sure”
-Just a lot of fun secret dating shenanigans cause Kurt isn’t ready to come out yet
-A bit of bonus information but Kurt and Ark in this AU have matching hair streaks since they've been together for so long (roughly 6 years both in world and irl)

2014
First meet, I was new to the institute and wasn't really good at fighting and had trouble making friends with everyone. Kurt asked for my help setting up a prank on Jean cause I happened to be walking by and we started talking and found out we shared an interest in games and listened to a lot of the same music. Ended up being good friends and I started hanging out with him and kitty quite a bit, but wasn't real close with the rest of the team because of how shy I was. Already knew I was a guy and had hormone blockers and a binder, my uniform had a compressor which was a lot safer and ended up wearing that under my clothes sometimes instead. Wasn’t yet ready to cut my hair to short yet. Depression had started before I even joined the team and was dealing with a lot of personal stuff. The professor had helped me change my name legally before even joining which was nice
2015
Starting opening up to the team and getting closer with everyone and made some friends at school who were Kurt’s friends but didn’t really have any friends of my own yet. Was getting a lot better at fighting and getting a handle on my powers, and discovered I could use emotional energy to create real bursts later in the year. Started getting really into my art around this time too. Kurt was apparently starting to question his sexuality too but tried not to think about it. Came out to Kurt that I was trans at this point, later in the year told Kitty too.
Around the middle of the year Kurt kissed me for the first time, we had just been hanging out in my room laying on my bed talking honestly about ourselves and having a nice conversation about our lives. I was caught off guard and didn’t kiss back and he panicked and teleported away. It was a couple days before we really had a chance to be alone and I kissed him back finally, and we ended up talking for a long time about what this meant for us. We ended up being like “We’re still best friends, but now there's some new stuff to that”, and Kurt wasn’t ready to come out yet so we dated secretly and only Kitty knew. Kurt identified as Bi for a time while he sorted out his feelings but ended up realzing he was just gay late in the year. I was still ace but knew i was bi-romantic
2016
The Professor was really helpful and said he would help pay for any transitioning I wanted to do, as long as I did my best on the team and in school. Ended up telling the rest of the team one by one that I was trans, not everyone really got it but they were supportive and nice about it. Really started to get better at my powers and finally cut my hair real short and had a mohawk for a bit until I settled for an undercut later in the year. Made some friend’s of my own who tended to be the “scary kids” but were actually super chill and played a lot of video games. Ended up getting top surgery as soon as I could.
Same year mutantkind got exposed to the world and I had trouble going back to school with that going on and my depression hit hard, but Kurt was there to help. My new friends thought it was super cool I had powers tho and were a nice support system
Early in the year we had accidently gotten caught kissing by Toad, who I ended up making him swear to secrecy under the threat of beating the shit out of him. Turns out, he was gay too! So as long as he didn’t tell anyone about us we wouldn’t tell anyone about him, but we ended up on pretty decent terms with him later on. Later though R/ogue borrowed Kurt’s powers in a fight and learned we were dating, but she also promised not to tell anyone. We were also pretty sure Logan, the professor and Jean all knew but weren’t sure (they did)
2017
Pretty chill year, until towards the end where me and Kurt got caught kissing at school by a kid we didn’t know and the news spread through the school really fast. It was really rough on him, but I ended up bringing him into my new non-mutant friend group cause they were mostly queer too. The team learning about it was… awkward to say the least but they we’re pretty chill about it. Because of this Kurt ended up coming out to his parents when he went home for christmas that year right before he came back. It was rough at first and they didn't really get it but were the awkward kind of supportive. I mean their kid was already blue and teleported, being gay wasn’t that shocking.
Me and Kurt had gotten really serious around this time, and were talking about our future together, but we were avoiding talking about college because we were scared we’d want to go separate places and long distance was really scary
2018
Senior year was rough for both of us, my grades were doing terribly and the depression didn’t help and everyone knowing about us being together and being mutants was really not helping. If we didn’t have each other I don’t think we could have made it through it, and I probably would have dropped out. I barely graduated but only because Jean helped tutor me and secretly some of my friends did some of the work for me so I could focus on things that were more of a priority. Graduating was so nice, but I suffered severe burnout that summer, and did nothing almost the entire time. Kurt also got an upgraded holowatch at this time that didn’t constantly break on him and was way more durable. I also figured out how to make the emotional energy take shape, easiest things are simple objects and its usually weapons (Swords, bats, bow, ect)
A couple things with our relationship did happen though, that Christmas I went to go meet Kurt’s family. They were super nice, but really awkward and it was nice to get away for a bit. While we were there we ended up finally talking about college and our plans. I knew I wanted to learn psychology and Kurt still wasn’t sure of his plans, but we ended up deciding to do the community college to get our general classes done first and that would buy us more time to figure things out.
2019
Took a gap year together and ended up traveling together across the country in a van. It was a great way to destress from everything and finally get a break from being superheroes too. The whole thing brought us a lot closer and Kurt tried to propose at one point while we were traveling, I ended up saying no but in a more of a “Not yet” kind of way, because of how young we are. We talked about it, and agreed we would get engaged when we were a bit older but we kept the rings as promise rings for that one day when we would try that again. We also ended up getting our hair streaks not long before we went back to the institute as a surprise for everyone, plus we thought it was cute.

2020
Oh my god this year has been crazy, we started college together and finally being able to be out has been so nice. Or it was until ya know... we got hit with a plague (yup we have that here too) and have mostly been doing classes online which is a shame. We were both looking forward to campus life and being locked in the institute all the time is a nightmare, especially with all the new students that we’ve been roped into helping teach... But hey, hopefully things will be getting better soon!
2020 revised
This year has been wild, there’s so many new kids at the institute now! The professor keeps roping us in to help teach. Being back on the team though is super nice! Although we do have a new member, Laura, who Logan just apparently brought out of nowhere even tho she was the girl who attacked us a couple years back? She’s kinda odd but she’s trying her best (I think...). College has been interesting, some of my friends ended up moving away but some stayed in town which it’s been nice having classes with them.
Some things have stayed the same in both versions tho!
Kurt’s birth mom (M//ystique) has finally been working to turn over a new leaf. She’s definitely not a good guy but she’s not working with the bad guys anymore? Which i guess is progress?? She’s been trying to reconnect with Kurt and R/ogue, it’s been slow cause R/ogue doesn’t want anything to do with her really but Kurt’s talked to her a few times and they’ve gotten lunch a couple times. I guess after the apocalypse thing it kinda made her think about things, and then Kurt and me being gone for so long kinda made her really reconsider things.
It seems most of the brotherhood is still in town tho, which has caused some problems and they have a couple new members too which has been… a problem. M//agneto has been laying low though, which has been nice so the brotherhood hasn’t done anything to bad.
Being back at the school is kinda nice though, I missed being around my friends and luckily the school has had renovations and expansions so there’s more rooms and the senior/core team rooms have their own bathrooms! Which, holy shit is so nice...

Ark was a part of the X-Men but never fit in with the group and was kinda treated like shit and they run into Kurt at a coffee shop and he's like '"We're off the clock dont worry about it" (He works with Magneto and the Brotherhood but also does his own stuff a lot and it's usually things like theft, assassination, and for hire crimes) and just get to talking they end up kinda befriending each other and avoiding fighting directly when they can he doesnt care about people but something about Ark calls out to him (they can tell he's genuine about it to cause empath powers).
And they just keep meeting up and talking until the day after Ark's birthday cause they have a bit of a breakdown cause no one remembered or cared even though it was on the calendar! and to cheer them up he's like "Ok what’s something you've wanted to do in the city that you've never done" so they end up going to the zoo (they didn't wanna go alone) and they go to the zoo and he pays for their ticket and treats them to lunch and even ends up paying for the stuff at the gíft shop they were gonna buy and when they ask why he's being so nice to them he's like "I couldn't stand to see you upset like that, I much prefer seeing you smile"
That's where I am now and when I have more I'll add to it but basically they're gonna kinda fall for each other and eventually after something really pushes them he's gonna basically be like "Aren't you tired of being nice? Don't you just wanna go apeshit?" And they're like "YOU KNOW WHAT YEAH" and pair up with him and start working with the brotherhood and end up using their powers to shut off their inhibitions and anxiety (which is why their eyes are stuck orange) and just don't care what anyone thinks about them anymore and the two of them are just very dangerous agents of chaos
I'm thinking the breaking point is them making a split second decision call (something like not risking their life to save someone who's been advocating for mutant death's kinda thing) and all the other X-men being shit about it to them even though they still feel like they made the right call (and they totally did!!!) and they realize they're never gonna be good enough for them and their morals line up more with the brotherhood anyways

Based on the 2015 X-men inferno Secret Wars thing where Nightcrawler gets his soul ripped out and is turned into a monster by DarkChild. Slightly different than canon where Goblin queen doesnt kill off his mind and at some point my S/I, Ark, is able to use their empath powers to sever the control Darkchild has over him (although for plot reasons how they break him out of the control varies depending on what I wanna do).
Usually involves them helping him find his soul again, and once he gets it his mind is still kind of broken but he’s closer to normal and able to transform back and forth between his beast form and a slightly different version of his normal self (look varies, usually has horns, longer fur on his forearms and claws). But hey hes got a bunch of sweet new powers!
And after kind of going feral in his beast form and killing Darkchild he becomes basically a scabbard for the Soulsword, which both he and Ark can wield. Tends to be extremely protective of Ark and in constant need of attention

Non-Romantic character!!! Usually a little brother figure for my S/I, Ark!
Unlike in canon he did not die in the X-termination event (only Xavier did), instead having serious injuries and losing his left leg and messing up his ability to teleport to the point even a couple teleports will completely wipe him out.
His Earth’s version of Ark was a huge hero, considered one of the big five (alongside Spiderman, Captain Marvel, Thor, and Black Panther) so he’s very star stuck and admires them a lot.
Sometimes shows up if Ark gets knocked out of their dimension and needs to go home, othertimes Ark is a part of their team with a romantic version of Nightcrawler on the team too cause I do what I want
He's also Autistic with ADHD which him and Ark are able to connect about. I tend to project on this character a lot

Follows canon up to the point of X-termination, where he also didn’t die but his reality was sealed off and he can’t go home. Due to what happened with X-force he instead takes up the offer to travel with the X-treme x-men and continue to dimension hop and help other realities. Not always romantic (but it depends on the AU) and is instead usually an almost mentor to my S/I. Often also is a mentor to Kid as the two are usually coexisting in whatever AU this is and helps him with his powers. Very stoic and kind of grumpy, but secretly cares a lot about this team.

Ark prefers He/Him pronouns but also uses they/them! I’ll be mostly using They/them so it won’t get confusing with my F/O’s pronouns
Ark exists in the Marvel universe, no particular Earth as I like to bounce around different AU ideas. With so many different AUs their backstory tends to vary a lot by my default is they existed in a world that is basically ours, and was basically me. In love with their F/O, Nightcrawler, even though he was fictional and eventually was pulled into his world one day! Their bond together is an unbreakable string of fate which is unaffected by time and space, and was strong enough to pull them though to the marvel universe to be with Kurt because the world they ended up in didn’t have a counterpart of them, and filling a void by making them be able to take the place of who their counterpart would have been was much easier for reality than to pull Kurt through and completely change how Ark’s world works.
Kurt recognized them as soon as they showed up, having seen Ark in his dreams for many years, which they later figured out was Ark’s daydreams of being with him. This worked the same way towards Ark, any dreams of him were him imagining being with them.
Their bond is still strong, and allows them to be able to find each other no matter where the other is, so long as one calls out with their soul and the other answers. This is visible to others with a small flash of a line of red light pointing towards each other.
Sadly due to the ever changing AUs I don’t have more to talk about backstory wise, but you can find some information in each of the main AUs!

-Able to feel and manipulate other people's emotions. Isn't always able to block out other's emotions
-Can cause other's to feel their emotions, not always on purpose
-Emotional regulation issues (caused by their autism and adhd, heightened by their empath abilities)
-Ark can temporarily turn off their emotions. It's rarely done and usually for emergancies because afterwards they will feel all the emotions much stronger and all at once and it leaves them exhausted. They have to turn off all emotions and cannot turn off only one
-Ark cannot manipulate their own emotions beyond temporarily turning them off
Energy Conversion and Manipulation
-Often conversion of Emotional energy into other types of energy
-Can only manipulate energy they convert from emotional energy
-Can sometimes turn this energy into semi physical objects, often weapons for fighting
-It's much easier to manipulate their own emotional energy
-Often creates bursts of energy though their heels or hands, which when used properly allows them to propel themself forwards in bursts which allows them to close distances very quickly in combat
Healing
-When Ark is receives any injuries that would be considered irreverable (such as knocked out tooth, lost limb, ect) that body part (or where it would be) will be "cacooned" in energy until their energy heals/replaces the injured bodypart.
-Bad injuries like a broken arm will heal about twice as fast as it would for normal people
-minor injuries and their chronic pain is not effected by this

-Ark avoids "spoiling" events, because if they interfere with certain events it can disrupt the timeline. They have an inherent sense of what will and won't cause problems
-In some storylines Ark is brought to Kurt's world by their connection, in others they are sent by a mysterious "them" to prevent a large scale disaster.
-Ark's side of reality they are from is called "the outbreach", and are only a handful of people to ever cross the breach. Ark's knowledge and the fact theyre from the outbreach must be kept a secret for their safety
-Ark is immune to telepathy and mind control, those who try to poke around in their head often describe it as just pure static. Talking via a telepathic link is possible if Ark allows it
-Rogue's power when used on Ark cause an energy feedback loop, and will cause pain for both of them (both mental and physical) but she cannot absorb their powers or memories
-Ark's pocket dimensional pocket is a "promise from the universe" that Ark will never have to lose their stuff again after leaving behind everyone and everything in their world that wasnt on their person as they were yanked from their world without warning
-Although how Ark first appears in Kurt's world does vary, often Ark come from a sudden worm hole opening above the X-men's baseball field during a game and they crash land in an energy cacoon basically
-Large absorbions of negative emotions can cause physical illness and nausua for them
-Ark's jacket in their current costume was Kurt's that he used on a few missions but they snatched it. They like to steal his hoodies, but will return (most) of them when he wants to wear them
-Ark storing thing in pocket dimensions is a automatic reflex when startled, so even if an explosion suddely goes off whatever they have is immediatly stored away.
-Ark's is a natural redhead! They dye the sides black because it looks cool and like dying the rest of their hair sometimes. It's usually it's natural red with a lighter streak dyed in
-Ark shares my Autism and other neurodivergent stuff! Kurt put's a lot of effort into understanding and helping them as much as he can
-Ark and Kurt are almost always together and regardless of AU tend to rely on each other and help each other improve themselves.
-Their string of fate allows them to find each other by showing the direction the other is, and a very vague distance. They can also send general emotions to each other, such as distress, loneliness, excitement, etc.
-Ark's empathic abilities cause them to be able to feel other's emotions, but have learned to block them out (much like a telepath does with other's thoughts) so they can simply function. They are susceptible to emotional overload in areas with a lot of people and strong emotions, such as in a hospital, which can somewhat break through their mental blocks.
-Because Ark's powers take up so much energy they have a hyper-metabolism and need to consume almost triple the calories as a normal person. This was discovered when they were rapidly losing weight after joining the X-men and collapsed due to malnutrition.
-In Goldy and Three's world Ark is in charge of the X-men's Twitter after Beast got catfished and wasn't allowed to do it anymore
--Nighty and Ark in have matching hair streaks since they've been together for so long (roughly 6 years both in world and irl)

Ark was a part of the X-Men but never fit in with the group and was kinda treated like shit and they run into Kurt at a coffee shop and he's like '"We're off the clock dont worry about it" (He works with Magneto and the Brotherhood but also does his own stuff a lot and it's usually things like theft, assassination, and for hire crimes) and just get to talking they end up kinda befriending each other and avoiding fighting directly when they can he doesnt care about people but something about Ark calls out to him (they can tell he's genuine about it to cause empath powers).
And they just keep meeting up and talking until the day after Ark's birthday cause they have a bit of a breakdown cause no one remembered or cared even though it was on the calendar! and to cheer them up he's like "Ok what’s something you've wanted to do in the city that you've never done" so they end up going to the zoo (they didn't wanna go alone) and they go to the zoo and he pays for their ticket and treats them to lunch and even ends up paying for the stuff at the gíft shop they were gonna buy and when they ask why he's being so nice to them he's like "I couldn't stand to see you upset like that, I much prefer seeing you smile"
That's where I am now and when I have more I'll add to it but basically they're gonna kinda fall for each other and eventually after something really pushes them he's gonna basically be like "Aren't you tired of being nice? Don't you just wanna go apeshit?" And they're like "YOU KNOW WHAT YEAH" and pair up with him and start working with the brotherhood and end up using their powers to shut off their inhibitions and anxiety (which is why their eyes are stuck orange) and just don't care what anyone thinks about them anymore and the two of them are just very dangerous agents of chaos
I'm thinking the breaking point is them making a split second decision call (something like not risking their life to save someone who's been advocating for mutant death's kinda thing) and all the other X-men being shit about it to them even though they still feel like they made the right call (and they totally did!!!) and they realize they're never gonna be good enough for them and their morals line up more with the brotherhood anyways
